Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you have managed to have a good Christmas break despite the difficult circumstances that we have found ourselves in.
I’m sorry for contacting you so late in the holiday, we had hoped to be in a position to update you earlier, but like you, we have been waiting for clarity from the Department for Education (DfE) and the government. The government has made it a national priority that education and childcare settings should continue to operate as normal as possible during the COVID-19 outbreak. This remains the default position for all areas irrespective of local restriction tiers.
It is my intention to keep the school closed next week and offer a full ONLINE timetable of lessons to all of our students on Wednesday 6th, Thursday 7th and Friday 8th January. This will give us time to prepare the school and train staff to deliver Covid testing for our students and staff. It is hoped that testing will start the week commencing January 11th. Parental consent will be required and further information about this will be sent to you next week.
We will contact transport to advise them not to collect your child next week.
If you require resources to help your child access online learning, please contact office@allsaintslessingham.co.uk
All lessons will be accessed via Microsoft Teams and lesson materials will be available via Google Classrooms. It will be an expectation that your child will log on for their first lesson at 9am and continue to attend all their timetabled lessons throughout the day. Further information regarding their timetable and how to access the lessons will be sent in due course.
School will be fully open to all students for face-to-face teaching from Monday 11th January and it will be our expectation that all students attend. To reduce the likelihood of transmission in our settings and wider community we will continue to strictly adhere to our safety measures and will do our utmost to ensure that our systems are followed closely. We will continue to follow the guidance we receive to the letter and will adapt our systems of controls based on the most up-to-date risk assessments and regulations. It is in our interest to create as safe an environment as possible for the adults who work at our school, so please be assured that we take this responsibility very seriously. If you have concerns about your child attending school from this date, please do not hesitate to contact us via office@allsaintslessingham.co.uk
In order to make life easier for parents, students may continue to wear polo shirts if preferred.
We want to thank you for your continued flexibility and support during these difficult times. The situation is changing and evolving constantly and we will keep you updated as much as we are able.
Warm regards,
Sam Dangerfield
