Wellbeing Mentor
My name is Gemma Montgomery and I am the Wellbeing Mentor at All Saints School. I have a degree in Psychology and have worked at a variety of educational settings. My experiences range from early years through to secondary education.
My role is to provide social and emotional support to our students. I am here to offer a listening ear, to guide and assist students to help them to achieve their full potential. I also work closely with staff and home to support the development of our student’s overall wellbeing.
I deliver a range of activities on a one-to-one basis or part of a small group to promote the wellbeing and healthy lifestyles of our students. The sessions focus on helping to build confidence, self-esteem and resilience.
I am qualified as an ELSA.
ELSA stands for Emotional Literacy Support Assistant. The programme is designed to help schools to support their students with their emotional needs.
ELSA’s are trained and have regular supervision with Educational Psychologists.
Their aim is to build children's emotional development and help them cope with life’s challenges.
I can help with a wide range of areas, such as loss and bereavement, self-esteem, social skills, worries, recognising emotions and managing strong feelings.
Further information about ELSA including details of research can be found at on the ELSA network website
